Dredd - HTTP API Testing Framework

Dredd is a language-agnostic command-line tool for validating API description document against backend implementation of the API.

Dredd reads your API description and step by step validates whether your API implementation replies with responses as they are described in the documentation.

Dredd supports writing hooks — a glue code for each test setup and teardown. Following languages are supported:

Installation

$ npm install -g dredd

Quick Start

  1. Create an API Blueprint file called api-description.apib. Follow tutorial at API Blueprint website or just take one of the ready-made examples.

  2. Run interactive configuration:

    $ dredd init

  3. Run Dredd:

    $ dredd

      These frameworks are no longer be automatically injected into themes from Sphinx 6.0. If you develop a theme or extension that uses the jQuery, $, or $u global objects, you need to update your JavaScript to modern standards, or use the mitigation below.

      The first option is to use the sphinxcontrib.jquery_ extension, which has been developed by the Sphinx team and contributors. To use this, add sphinxcontrib.jquery to the extensions list in conf.py, or call app.setup_extension("sphinxcontrib.jquery") if you develop a Sphinx theme or extension.

      The second option is to manually ensure that the frameworks are present. To re-add jQuery and underscore.js, you will need to copy jquery.js and underscore.js from the Sphinx repository_ to your static directory, and add the following to your layout.html:

    Parsing openapi3 files encodes parameter names, that causes the tests that uses this kind of parameters being skipped.
